Today I've been able to access the Playstation Network all day. In the evening however, no such luck. The following error number was hurled in my direction: 80710B23.
That means: PS3 Network is down or the PS3 Network is too busy to respond.
If your Playstation 3 hurls an error code in your direction you can understand what it's trying to tell you by referring to the Playstation 3 Error Codes list below:
Playstation 3 Error Codes
0710102 - DNS Error (DSN server isn't available)
8001050B - Will not play demo games installed on the hard drive when Blu-ray disc is inserted
80010510 - Will not play games installed on the hard drive
8002b241 - DVI has no audio
80029023 - Exchanging Key Information exchange has timed out
80029024 - The attempt to obtain an IP address has timed out
80029564 - Downloaded game will not install
8002F997 - Can not update XMB Firmware
8003051E - Game will not save
80031150 - System settings fail to save (Setting information is corrupted. Press the X button to repair and restore default)
80130203 - PS3 connects to the Internet but not to the Network (Usually means that the required ports are not open)
80710092 - An error has occurred. you've been signed out from the ps network (Your Internet connection may have dropped)
80710102 - PS3 Cannot connect to the router with current IP information (Try rebooting your router)
80710541 - The connection to the server timed out
80710B23 - PS3 Network is down or the PS3 Network is too busy to respond
80710D23 - Turn the PS3 off for approx. 30 minutes with the power toggle, not standby mode
80029024 - Cannot Obtain an IP address
8002F997 - Trying to update the Firmware, copying to a file and installing from a USB drive failed
80710016 - Playstation Network is down
8013013E - WEP Key error, change WEP key to all numbers (on router homepage) and try again, or switch to WPA
8071053D - Hard boot the PS3, turn off the PS3 to stand-by, flip off the back switch and completely remove the power cord. Shut off your modem/router, for approx. 5 minutes, then turn the modem back up first and let it sync. Then turn the router back on (if you're using one) and let it sync. Reconnect your power cable and flip the back switch up again. Then make a new network connection
8013030F - Check Router Page, SSID Broadcasting possibly off
8002F994 - Too many people downloading the update (download it later on)
80028F10 - Go to Display Settings then HDMI (or whatever your connection is) and instead of Custom choose Automatic
8002A705 - Unable to connect to server/host (check router port configuration)
80030920 - An error occurred during the copy operation, the file may be corrupt or there isn't enough memory (Try copying data from original source)

Anyone else had this error code? if so, give Sony a call, they'll be able to advise, typically they'll ask you to restore your PS3 ... gulp and if that doesn't work you better hope your Playstation 3 is still under warranty.

8002A402 means that the PSN is down for maintenance, be patient and it should be back up within 24 hours.

Sharon welcome. Which game are you trying to run?
To try and fix PS3 error code: 8001002b. Try this and in this order:
1. Eject the disc (if it's in the PS3) give it a really good clean (make it as good as new) pop it into the PS3 and try.
2. If you're reading this, then step one failed, aherm. Whoops. Okay, you might have some corrupt data installed. So you'll need to resort to removing that before trying again. (Go to : XMB > Game > Data > Find the game that's causing problems > Triangle > Delete. * A word of warning you may wish to back up your data to a pen drive or something of that ilk if you have a lot of save games). Once all game data references have been removed, try loading the game.
3. Still not working?! Oh dear. Not looking good is it? Okay, repeat step 1, then reboot, then insert the game and finally cross your fingers and pray to the heavens.
4. Ah Shrucks! Wasn't expecting you to get to this point. Sorry to say but you're going to have to give the friendly chaps a telephone call at Sony.

Yeah it's '105er' lol but seriously, COD Modern Warfare has a nasty habit nowadays of outputting "Command not known" as it tries to load the next level and then quitting the session, which is why most gamers don't get a good run sprint of maps - really annoying, didn't use to be as bad this when I was playing like a Marine 3-6 months ago :-!

If you've been having the "signed out of network" message try this, restart your router, be patient, then go to; SETTINGS>NETWORK SETTINGS>INTERNET CONNECTION TEST then Yes to all. you should have SUCCEEDED in signing into playstation network, then sign into your game server and enjoy!

I keep getting 8001050F, when I start a game, EVEN IF IM OFFLINE, after a few seconds the PS3 tells me that there is an issue with the trophies for the game, and that it will exit the game. It then proceeds to quit the game, and I also am unable to sign in to playstation network....... HELP!!!!!!!!
I was just playing AvP today, everything worked perfect. Then when I tried playing the game again this evening, PS3 won't connect to PSN giving me the 8001050F error.
I've had this PS3 since they first came out, it's one of the first models that allowed backwards capability (every PS/PS2 works on it). I've never had any problems up until now.
I was thinking it was just a problem with PSN (upgrading, maintanence, or something similar), until I looked it up. Now I'm scared. But perhaps that's still what it is? I wish there was somewhere online where we could get updates about PSN's status and the such.
I wonder how many others have experienced this (just now). Maybe there isn't anything wrong with our systems, rather, it's just PSN.

you can also share downloadable content with other users. For example: if is was to take your user id and psswrd, set it up on my ps3, i could download and copy all of your paid for content to my psn id, vice versa.

no we could share, alls you have to do is once i access you psn id, i would go to the account management type your password in and redownload all you content to my ps3 harddrive.
you can get it all back if you restored your ps3.....just go to -View Purchases- in top right corner of ps store....and re-download

The 8001050F. It is the most annoying PSN error EVER. You can't get to PSN play, can't even play games where does have trophies (I mean MW2 now)

hey guys this code can't mean anything to do with online maintenance because i've never been on line with my PS3 and tonight i got same problem with trophies and the code on all my games

Everyone just leave your Playstation alone. NO ONE THAT HAS THE PSN ERROR ON THERE PLAYSTATION, HAS A BROKEN PLAYSTATION. As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.
We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.
Errors include:
* The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
* When the user tries to sign in to the PlayStation Network, the following
message appears on the screen; “An error has occurred. You have been
signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”.
* When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears
on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; “Failed to install
trophies. Please exit your game.”
* When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the
Internet, the following message appears on the screen; “The current date
and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”
* Users are not able to play back certain rental video downloaded from the
PlayStation Store before the expiration date.
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
As mentioned above, please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
For the latest status on this situation please continue to check either the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.

YEAH no problem, beleive me, i was trippin yesterday myself, and couldnt find no answers so i searched high and low to find some info. just found that a minute ago. just imagine if their "bug" fucked up everyones system and we all had to send them in and have em fixed for free. . lol, what a mess that would be huh. But naaah, i think everything will be all good again soon.

From what I have heard, there is an issue with the internal clock in the older generation PS3's. Sony did not code the internal clocks correctly which is a hardware issue on the older phat playstation 3's.
I would not panic if I were you. Sony is most likely working on a new firmware update that will fix the issue but probably takes time to write all the new code for a fix. I will be happy if it only takes 24 hours, although I do miss my MW2.
